– Almost Grown – David Bowie – Perhaps he should stick to Bruce? Not a million ways from his “Let’s Spend The Night Together”. this is a transgendered come on, that “aaah” is the faintest of desires. Muscularly effete – B

– Kiss My Lips You Fool – Hive Riot – Love the breathless vocal and the chorus is glorious – B

– You And I – Half Japanese – Mid album lull – C

– Whitest Boy On The Beach – Fat WHite Family – The ending to this song is such a fabulous denouement it took me back to the beginning which is fabulous bruisy post-punk wall of sound – B+

– After Dark – Eliot Sumner – She sounds like a guy, it’s bizarre – C

– Open Season – Eleanor Friedberger – Love the guitar tone – B

– Chip On My Shoulder – De Rosa – The problem is the multi tracking, your ears are all over the place, oh and also? The song is terrible – D+

– Modern Love – Coasts – Indie pop wall of synths – C-

– That Lindy Hop – Cherry Poppin’ Daddies – Yup, back to the 20s… much better before they start singing but still, at least it is obscurer than “Ain’t Misbehavin'” – B

– Romeo – Chairlift – Sugar coated synth pop, this is why people love the band – B
