Sep 16 Not With The Band: It’s A War, A Bot War And We Are Losing It
Will a time come when it is totally impossible to buy a ticket online? Are the bots gonna finally take over one day? Ticketmaster says they are working on the problem, but whatever they are doing is not enough! Will I have to buy my own bot one day? But rich people will have a better bot then mine, and we’ll go back to the beginning

Sep 16 An Amy Winehouse Statue Was Unveiled In London
Do you like statues of people who died a minute ago? I don’t. I understand statues of Lincoln, Washington, historic figures of a past, when we didn’t have photos and movies, but statues of people we knew very well through concert footages and tons of pictures?

Sep 16 David Bowie Writes Liner Notes For Kinks Greatest Hits
The other thing to keep in mind here is the following: since the Kinks digital output has been disastrous and since just about every single album the band have ever made deserves a deluxe version, let’s hope the band start sorting out their past history before they are too late to do it.

Sep 16 Lera Lynn “The Avenue” Reviewed
A step sideways and while still good enough to be worth a longer look, it is a strange hybrid new country (or is that Americana?) mood music. If you listen to new r&b, folks like the Weeknd, the sound here would be less Bristol in the 1990s, or George Jones any time, and more moody sounded deep sounds that sink your soul down.

Sep 16 Leonard Cohen’s “Popular Problems” Streaming On NPR
It is so great it is the greatness that you find in later period Nabakov, like “Transparent Things” -and it is the ululating completeness of something like a mid-period Nabakov like “The Vane Sisters”. I guess I mean it is eastern European in nature.

Sep 16 Head In The Clouds With U2
The only time the invasion of your privacy is important is when your privacy is most neccessary to you: so, yeah, nobody cares until they do and when they do care your lifes safeguards, your privacy and I am not even suggesting illegality at all here, is common knowledge. then you are screwed.

Sep 16 Dr. Who’s “Listen” Reviewed
What’s so cool about a middle aged, grumpy, Scottish Dr. Who? Not much is my claim, I am still going through withdrawal from the leaving of the only Doctor to ever go to Coachella. The Who who broke Who in the US. The only Who who matters. Matt Smith.

Sep 16 10 Songs: Tuesday, June 16th, 2014
Rich Kids – Judah And The Lion – It sounds like folk psychedelia, a dream of a rich soul and having no money melted together, but the complications sick it and stick it as time drifts by and your dreams misguided. Wise stuff – B+

Sep 15 Zak Smith’s “Signs Of Life” Reviewed
Full blown CD’s of acoustic songs are not my normal cup of tea but at least I didn’t cringe or quit listening to any of these songs in disgust. Zak Smith can write a song with melody and I imagine the Springsteen influences and comparisons will level out in the future. If I were to grade this I would give this a B .

Kanye stopped the show at at Qantas Credit Union Arena when two seated fans wouldn’t get up, because, well, this time they were in wheelchairs. The Daily Mail Australia reported that Kanye refused to perform until the crowd were on their feet, saying, ‘I can’t do this song, I can’t do this show until everybody stand up.’

Sep 15 Meet Billy Idol During His Upcoming Book Tour
You know me as Billy Idol, the hell-raising rebel who’s lived life to the full—sometimes fuller than life would allow. But I am also William Michael Albert Broad, a working-class kid from the suburbs of London: a dreamer with his nose forever in a book, cursed with feeling too much, dreaming too big, and suffering slights too deeply

Sep 15 Meghan Trainor’s “Title” Reviewed
The difference lyrically isn’t the difference between love and indifference towards men but about her sense of physicality: her self image. Which has improved vastly. Now she can spend her time worrying about which guys only want her because she’s famous.

Sep 15 That Was The Week Of September 8th, 2014, That Was
Justin Townes Earle’s Single Mothers towers above the week. A pathetic three star review in Rolling Stone and a general missing the point of perfection by everybody else, this is maybe the album of the year. It must be Top Five. What price doing the work of a lifetime and people not listening?
