All My Friends, A New Music Festival Happening Downtown Los Angeles This Summer
In 2018, some festivals died (the FYF fest is not happening at least this year), other ones were born. A new one was just announced for this summer with a lineup heavy on hip hop, electronics and R&B. All My Friends will be happening in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, August 18th, and Sunday, August 19th, with RL Grime, Gucci Mane and Jhene Aiko headlining on Saturday, and M.I.A., Jamie XX and Armand Van Helden headlining on Sunday.
Presented by AMFAMFAMF, major music event producer LiveStyle’s new entertainment brand, the festival is advertised as an ‘all-star music extravaganza of what is cool and current in hip-hop, R&B and dance music right now’.
Also on the bill are Abra, Anna Lunoe, Barclay Crenshaw, Chris Lake, Chris Lorenzo, Claptone, Cut Chemist, Deux Twins, GodDollars, Golf Clap, Grandson, Jason Bentley, Jubilee, Justin Martin, LA Leakers, Little Boots, Mike B, Monte Booker, Moon Boots, DJ Nu-Mark, Pete Tong, Phlegmatic Dogs, Ravyn Lenae, Sheck Wes, Smokepurpp, Soul Clap, Split Secs, Them Jeans, Wax Motif and Yo Gotti…
Livestyle president, and EDM king Gary Richards, aka Destructo on stage, is the one who assembled the lineup, he is best known as the founder and CEO of HARD events… so I guess this will give you the tone of the festival if you are clueless about all these artists.
The festival was announced in a funny trailer posted on YouTube (see below) and the ticket pricing seem rather reasonable: a 2-day GA pass is $129 (plus fee), a single day pass is $79 (plus fee) a 2-day VIP pass is $249 (plus fee), and a single day VIP pass is $139 (plus fee).
The line up looks far less eclectic than FYF’s defunct one, as it only focuses on what kids like in 2018, and may be this is the way to go: the early bird tickets are already all gone!
