“No Closer To Heaven” is an album that will transcend The Wonder Years’ career and be an album that truly defines them, this album will be the one that separated them from their prior work.
“Cardinals” is an important song for the band to release as a lead single as it holds a familiar theme all while introducing this new sound they’re trying out. If the rest of “No Closer To Heaven” follows suit with “Cardinals” I feel as though this could quite possibly be The Wonder Years best effort out of any and become what will be their Opus.
As It Is have a timeless sound that should not go unnoticed because they could literally fit in an era of Pop Punk with the sound they’ve crafted. They are a sweet mix of the old-school ways of Pop Punk and the new-school, gritty and angsty tunes that have come out in the last few years.
