Give A Glimpse Of What Yer Not – Dinosaur Jr – The band settle down as elder statesmen of hard rock meets punk freshness and this is exactly what they do, the sort of DJ that is about what it is. Hard rock folk and strum, electric darklands boogie, and great guitar all over the place. But it is also nothing special, it is a mid-career treading water business as usual – B

Way Down In The Jungle Room – Elvis Presley – This one is major, it is the 1976 recordings at Presley’s Graceland den repurposed as a studio, “The Jungle Room”. Recorded February 2-8, 1976 and October 28-30, 1976, the first CD is a compilation of previously released tracks, which means you’re stuck with Felton Jarvis overdubs, but the second CD is the unreleased stuff, what  engineer  Matt Ross-Spang has done here, cleaning up and offering out the original recordings, is a gift from the gods of Elvis. After the atrocious Presley and the Philadelphia Philharmonic album last year, this is a joy for all of us – A

Lovers – Nels Cline – The Wilco guitarist, just as well known as an avant garde jazzman, is neither on this smooth jazz opus with a full band. Timeless, unless the time is the 1950s – B+

Suicide Squad: The Album – Various Artists – Whatever you thought of the “Twilight” movie series, those first two soundtracks were state of the art indie popsters delight, way way way cutting edge. But that was then, is is alt rockers covering big songs, and bad mash up hip hoppers covering big songs – D+
