Here we go, top of the eighteenth and the last disc on deluxe Bootleg Series. The Denver songs? “When Dylan and Robbie Robertson arrive at their Denver hotel at 3AM, they jam in Dylan’s hotel room for an hour. Shelton tapes the session on his portable reel-to-reel. Although it is just three days after Dylan completed Blonde 0n Blonde, Dylan and Robertson work on three new songs that, had they been given titles and not simply forgotten by Dylan, might have been called “Positively Van Gogh,” “Don’t Tell Him,” and “If You Want My Love.” Dylan then plays “Just Like a Woman” and “Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands” for Shelton’s benefit, before deciding it is time to get some sleep.”

“Positively Van Gogh” is missing three minutes that have been available on bootleg releases, which have Camilla’s verse. “The Cutting Edge” release of the Denver hotel tapes is spoiled by a hissing, sizzling sound that’s less noticeable on the bootlegs, making Dylan’s voice and guitar sound smaller and distant. Disc 18’s representation of the Glasgow hotel tape contains music and laughter new to me (“If I Was a King” and more of Dylan and Robbie Robertson working on “I Can’t Leave Her Behind”), but its version of “On a Rainy Afternoon” is four minutes shorter than previously circulating versions.”

Listening to it here, it is definitely for completist.

And that’s it for the 18 album collector’s edition.
