Donald Trump’s Favorite Music
Donald is the Chris Christie of President Elects: every musician he loves hates him with a passion. Of course, the list of musicians is a little on the miniscule side. However, whenever the Beach Boys, who played for Regan, won’t perform with you your options are getting smaller and smaller with every passing moment. I got this off Business Insider (here)
But if he could get some artists to perform with him, who would he get?
Adele – Remember when Adele performed at Radio City Music Hall and Trump pushed his way to the top of the line getting in? Adele didn’t endorse Hillary, but she came as close to endorsing her without endorsing her. I know, I heard Adele do it at MSG.
Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young – Trump on Neil Young: “He’s got something very special. I’ve listened to his music for years… His voice is perfect and haunting.”
The Rolling Stones: I guess he loves classic rock he can glom on.
Queen: I am not certain if playing “We Are The Champions” at rallys is an actual endorsement of the band but it is certainly the sort of band he’d like.
Elton John: Refused to play the inaugeration and had this to say about the use of his music during campaigns: “It’s nothing personal… I’m not a Republican in a million years. Why not ask Ted f—ing Nugent? Or one of those f—ing country stars? They’ll do it for you.”
Twisted Sister: Dee Snider forward a cease and desist after first agreeing to allow him to use “We’re Not Going To Take It”.
Also: off Rolling Stone: “Trump has name-checked Aerosmith, Elton John, Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson in the past, though he seems to think they’re “terrific” as much for their personalities as their tunes. His tastes undoubtedly run right down the middle of classic rock; according to aides, Trump programs his own campaign rally playlists, which include songs such as the Stone’s “Brown Sugar.” His go-to campaign song, though, has been Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” which he rocks at the end of his rallies.
Here is a Spotify Playlist of Trump’s favorite songs compiled by the Daily Dot. Oddly enough, no Kanye West.
