Echo Park Rising Has Announced Its Insane Lineup

Echo Park Rising, the small festival born in 2011 after the debacle of the Sunset Junction Fair, can’t be called small anymore. It has just published its lineup and it’s quite incredible. The festival has grown to crazy proportions and I get the impression they are adding more bands every year. Of course, don’t look for famous rockstars in this list, these are local bands as the festival has always focused on its neighborhood’s incredibly fertile pool of musical creativity.

There will be a main stage on Friday and Saturday, and plenty of other stages each day, curated by Buzz Bands LA, New Professor Records, SESAC, Blank City Records and Play Like a Girl among many others… The festival will last 4 days as last year, from August 17th to August 20th, making this summer ends with a bang… Just check out the lineup below! I have counted 53 bands that I recognize among this endless list, which is not too bad, but still very low compared to the amount of bands which are participating. As usual, the coverage of the festival will be overwhelming, but if I had to pick a few, I would say that I highly recommend to see Alice Bag, Babylon, the Buttertones, CG Roxanne and the Nightmares, Cheap Tissue, CRX, Dungen, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Holy Wars, Lauren Ruth Ward, Plague Vendor, Sextile… and that’s a very short selection as there are many bands I don’t know anything about. Echo Park Rising is a celebration of Los Angeles’ rich music diversity, this is a celebration of my neighborhood. Here is the lineup, too many bands to see, too little time:
