KOODA – 6ix9ine – Gangbanger from Bushwick has a voice like a gun unloading – B-

Don’t Say Goodbye – Aaron Carter – Former boy toy goes electronic singer songwriter – C+

Dreamer – Axwell /\ Ingrosso – Nothing special dance pop – C

Drowned In Gold – Boston Manor – Same ol’ modern rock – C

Real Friends – Camila Cabello – Camila did herself nothing but favors last week at Jingle Bell, and this gorgeous and simple heartfelt lonely heart is major/ There is nothing very much beyond a note here and a handclap track there but it is a very good song – B+

Out Of My Head (feat. Tove Lo and ALMA) – Charli XCX – Tough gals with beats, I know you love it but I need a better song than this busy one – C

Freedom Is A Word (feat. Vic Mensa ) – Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah – Flutes and drum machines and Vic oh my, is a major slice of jazz rap – B+

Dembow – Danny Ocean – The Venezuelan star is bi-lingual and this electronic singer songwriter bop is Spanish language but sounds English – B-

Untouchable – Eminem – His new album is schizoid, taken on his various personas on different track. Here he takes on the white boy special relationship with the US – B+

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town – Frank Sinatra, Seal – They won’t leave a rotting corpse when they can make a buck off it, now will they? – MUST TO AVOID – D

Sober – G-Eazy, Charlie Puth – Puth handles the lame chorus, G-Eazy the lousy rap – D+

Sumn – Lil Bibby, Blac Youngsta – Chicago gangsta – C

Whatever You On – London On Da Track, Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, Jeremih, YG – Atlanta old school rapper commits murder by overkill… Jeremih and Ty? To what end? – C+

Danger (with Migos & Marshmello) – Migos – The problem with those big time collabs for the Netflix movie “Bright,” is that picture of Will Smith and some alien life form as the cover art – C

Good As Gold – Moon Taxi – Last year they didn’t breakthrough and they won’t with this rock soul bummer – C-

Ain’t That Why – R3HAB, Krewella – Yet another DJ hooks up with EDM singer, this one ain’t bad, rhyming “chemicals” with “pedestal” will do that for ya, the verses, which sound a lot like “Too Good At Goodbyes,”  are better than the chorus – C+

Broken Prayers – Riley Clemmons – CCM with one foot in secular EDM pop – C+

Tonya Harding (In D major) – Sufjan Stevens – It is strange that blue collar white folks don’t really have musicians to sing for them anymore,  country is always sticking the flag down their throat  and rappers hate em (just listen to the new Eminem, who should know better, sticks it to em on his new album), this might be person specific but it is also social strata specific – A-

Tonya Harding (In Eb major) – Sufjan Stevens – This version is even better, a little higher, a little more disquieting – SINGLE OF THE WEEK – A

Turn – The Wombats – The wombats nod to Drake’s swimming pool on this bad relationship song – B

YouWouldn’tLikeMeWhenI’mAngry – Thom Yorke – No, it isn’t just electronica for the sake of it, this excellent piece of lo fi dreamscape pop is all haunted melody. Of a piece with his brilliant last solo album Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes but I have no idea when he recorded it – A-
