How I Feel – 2 Chainz. A$AP Ferg, FKi1st – the hook is addictive but intensely irritating and the entire song doesn’t hit anywhere close to last week’s EP – C+

Want You Back – 5 Seconds Of Summer – These guys missed their window of opportunity and instead of becoming One Direction discovered they were the Backstreet Boys but with a pop rock vibe. Nothing much serious bubblegum – C+

Dime Si Te Acuerdas – Bad Bunny – In just a year, Bad Bunny has transformed Latin- American pop into his own image, as a dark sided sound that rules the entire world, this latest single is a pure expression of it:  trap and Spanish singing with echo all over the place – B

Gone – Bazzi – R&B crossover pop, for this one man NSYNC – B-

Blood – Breaking Benjamins – Godawful alt rock -this is why we can’t have nice rock and roll – MUST TO AVOID – D+

Increase My Faith – Brian Courtney Wilson – It’s called “urban inspirational” aka bipolar Gospel bore – C

Break Up in the End – Cole Swindell – Nice little image, he would do it all again despite how it ends – B-

Like I Do – David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Brooks – A king, a prince and a regent of EDM come together for a house track that reminds you what you love about dance – B+

Boys Cry – Deptford Goth – Lo impact electro pop, meh and boring – C

We The Funk – Dillon Francis, Fuego – Well, no we aren’t, this is Latin American electro pop sounds – C+

Dear Congress, (17) – Dispatch – A lame response to Parkland – C

Mr. Tillman – Father John Misty – Meta portrait from the viewpoint of a hotel receptionist begs the answer to a meta question -what if this guy wasn’t a jerk? – C+

P E A C E – Hillsong Young & Free – I swear this hurts me more than you, but this isn’t the usual sub-U2 CCM bombast praise, really, it is a dreamscape of quite strange electronic beauty – B

Personal – PBH & Jack Shizzle Remix – HRVY – You don’t need to be a genius progenitor to note that by the end of the year HRVY will be the newest superstar for teens -he is a UK Justin Bieber when Bieber was 15 – C+

Django Jane – Janelle Monáe – Really good new r&b with a smart lyric in its future soul vibe – B+

Make Me Feel – Janelle Monáe – Prince redux and bi-sexuality has never been hotter, the video is excellent, colorful and hot and ambi as you can get – SINGLE OF THE WEEK – A-

44 More – Logic – This guy is a fast, staccato rapper. According to Genius: “The track contains just one verse made out of precisely 44 bars. Logic talks about issues ranging from family troubles to doubters in the industry while boasting his current position in the rap game. 6ix is also the producer of the track as he was on “44 Bars”. A nice piece of self congratulation – B

Almost Had to Start a Fight/In and Out of Patience – Parquet Courts – Yeah, I dismissed em for years, but this would be the single of the week almost any other week , a terrific riff with a little surf and turf for mood then they speed up for the second half – A-

Psycho (feat. Ty Dolla $ign) – Post Malone – This is the best song yet off Post Malone’s eagerly awaited post-breakthrough album, the usual my dick is bigger than yours stuff, but catchy as fuck – B+

Fiebre – Ricky Martin – Featuring both Wisin and Yasin, this is old school salsa – B-
