Way Too Fly (feat. Davido) – A Boogie Wit da Hoodie – First time I saw Boogie he was opening for Drake’s opening act and making a strong impression, this is r&b hip hop style by the numbers – C+

What You Want – Belly, The Weeknd – Very sticky soul pop, Belly sounds terrific in lead – B+

Nine Below Zero – Buddy Guy – Buddy, the last man standing now we no longer have BB King, recently claimed that Chicago blues doesn’t exist (on that Letterman show by the by), it was just Southerners who moved to the midwest. So I guess this is a pure Southern blues with a lot of electricity on this Sonny Boy Williamson cover. I have no idea why he isn’t like this in concert – B+

¿Quién es ese? (feat. Maite Perroni) – Versión Pop – Carlos Baute – The Venezuelan pop superstar kills it on this bouncy old school Latin sound – B+

Bonds – Original – Cousin Stizz – “Nobody is stronger than me and my money…” on this slurvy, catchy stuff – B

That Girl Is You – Dave Matthews Band – The guitar lick is pretty good but the vocals are so damn irritating – C

Burning Man – Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne – A high kick, rip roaring, electric guitar fueld country rocker – B+

Pretty Horses – Dwight Yoakam – Sweet country rock, like a Sweetheart outtake or something – B

Happier – Acoustic – Ed Sheeran – OOOh, I never realized it was a New York story. This is a gorgeous, heartbreaker of a take – A

Running From My Shadow (feat. grandson) – Mike Shinoda – So far, I prefer Mike solo than with Linkin Park, the rap here is pretty song, and the sound is good, but the song itself isn’t much – B-

Live It Up – Official Song 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia – Nicky Jam, Will Smith, Era Istrefi – A biggie for Era, and the Albanian nails her part, neither WIll nor Nicky are bad, but it feels anemic after “Waka Waka” – B-

Mr Clean (feat. Lupe Fiasco) – Nikki Jean – Pretty, good beat, hip hop r&b… nice to hear from Lupe – B-

Aspects – Paul Weller – Awful ballad… please stop – MUST TO AVOID – D

Big Train – Pllush – Death of a romance leads to deep introspection on this gorgeous slice of shoegaze – B

Unity We Need – Richie Spice, Chronixx – Dancehall star Spice meets crown prince of Rasta vibes – B

Toast to our Differences (feat. Shungudzo, Protoje & Hak Baker) – Rudimental – Puts the rude boys into Rudimental with a slice of toast and beats – B-

No Place – RÜFÜS DU SOL – Electronic mood music singer songwriterly electronica – B-

Only Can Get Better with Daniel Merriweather – Silk City – Silk City is Diplo and Mark Ronson and this is a straight up house track – B

Delicate – Sawyr And Ryan Tedder Mix – Taylor Swift – Cool rethinking as a repetitive dream pop scape – B+

Good Vibrations – The Beach Boys, Royal Philharmonic – The “Fun, Fun, Fun” version two weeks ago was a slap of paint on a beautiful room, this is digging holes in the wall and filling it with garbage, except for maybe 10 seconds of strings two minutes in  – C-

Freedom – The New Respects – Old school rock and roll boogie by new school “coed quartet of Tennessee-bred, African-American kids”  – B-

Rosanna – Weezer – Yes, that one – MUST TO AVOID – D

Fake Chanel – Yellow Claw, A$AP Ferg, Creek Boyz – Excellent House as written added to one of A$APs best performances in years and incredible backup, this is the second time this year Yellow Claw has blown me away and the second of their singles I’ve chosen to be – SINGLE OF THE WEEK  – A-

Big Bank feat. 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Nicki Minaj – YG – Not bad big time rap song – B-

Entertainer – ZAYN – Lo Fi (RELATIVELY, RELATIVELY), mood ballad, perhaps his first also ran but still pretty good – B-
