The Chairman’s Intent – Action Bronson – Nice rap, great hook: “You don’t even know me” and same ol’ rasp meets whine – B

We Were Beautiful – Belle And Sebastian – Decades after they were great, here they are the Pet Shop Boys of alt-folk – C+

P.O.P. – Belly – I heard they had reformed but this sounds nothing like… oh wait “Power Of Pussy”? It’s those meh rap cats not the alt feminist rockers – C

Faded Hearts – Born – Born again as a disco rock band with a touch of Bowie in the vocal – B-

Boys – Charli XCX – Shut up and sing “I Love It” – C

Sober – Cheat Codes, Nicky Romero – EDM pop by the numbers, but the numbers add up and the coda is worth the price of admission – B

Perfect – Dave East, Chris Brown – Dave is a nothing much rapper but Chris does a nice job on the verses – B-

Complicated – Dimitri Vega, Like Mike – Kiiara does nothing much with this bland piece of pop which includes David Guetta somewhere or the other and took four people to write the lyric. If you don’t think that’s hysterical listen to the song and you will – C-

In Your Corner – Ella Vos – Beautiful, distanced, electronica dreamscape, like shoecase for folks who hang at all night raves – B

Streamin’ – Elujay, Chris McClenney –future funk is apparently a euphemism for digital snoozefest – C

24 Hours – G4SHI – Dreadful auto tuned electronica – C-

Please Keep Loving me – James TW – Latest pop idol for the little girls, this is catchy mainstream balladeering – C+

Flood The Earth – Jesus Culture, Katie Torwait – I have a better idea God, flood the earth with rain and drown these two nitwits – C-

Mo Money Mo Problems – Kamiyah – Not that one, I guess his only hope is someone falls into it by mistake – D+

Learn To Let Go – Kesha – Not terrible but nothing much either, maybe she should ask Pitbull for a song (again). “I’ve been to hell and back,” Kesha claims, the problem is the “and back” portion– C+

Marmalade – Macklemore, Lil Yachty – Macklemore’s best since “Thrift Shop,” but not enough – C+

CAGES – NEEDTOBREATHE – These guys are always pretty good by CCM basis, though this is a drag – C+

Sonny Boy – Randy Newman – His talk sing shit got old shortly after “My Life Is Good” and while this bluesman with identity problems song is a good idea, ethe execution isn’t worth the effort – BC+

We’re On The Road Again – Ringo Starr – Wow, this is perfunctory awfulness defined, apparently McCartney is here somewhere as well – C-

Hunnid – Ryan Hensworth, E-40, Yakki – Not bd bay Area, I prefer E-40 over a single and while it is a touch too autotuned, the backing tracks are mesmerized art rap beats – B

Belong To You – Sabrina Claudio – Heated bore follow up – C+

Would You Ever – Skrillex, Poo Bear – It’s been years since “Where Are U Now” and this song makes it feel much longer –where is the innovation, where is the where the hell is that sound coming from? A real drag – C

Either Way – Snake-Hips, Anne-Marie, Joey Bada$$ – A waste of Bada$$ on this ordinary dance and rap track – C+

All In One Night – Stereophonics – Dreary alt rock atmospherics – C+

Glide – The Dream Syndicate – I am getting very psyched for the album, this rush of feeling feedback drenched intro into a roaring psychedelic guitar solo is all heaven on earth or “higher” and is even rarer than it was in 1982 – SINGLE OF THE WEEK – A-

Run For Cover – Lessee: LCD, AF and now TK, the old new sound of alt disco… this is a snooze – C+

Unforgettable – Thomas Rhett – Pretty good electronic modern country sound, but not because of the production, it’s just a catchy song – B+

YNS – YG, Blac Youngsta, YFN – Nothing much rap trap track – C+
