Aldous Huxley – Elation – Possessed and transfixed in intensity, it says here. Like getting caught in your studio apartment during a snowstorm just after your cat died – B

Alina Baraz – Buzzin – Mainstream r&b modern pop, pleasant if ineffectual – C+

Armand Van Helden – I Need A Painkiller – Armand Van Helden Vs. Butter Rush – House with a reggae lilt by a master – C+

Big K.R.I.T. – Confetti – Mississippi favorite son releases a piano tracked piece of political editorializing – B

Chris Lane – Take Back Home Girl (Feat. Tori Kelly) –  Blanded midstream bluesy country stinker  – MUST TO AVOID – D+

Courtney Barnett, Kurt Vile – Continental Breakfast – These guys are growing into a major irritant. “They trade drawling vocals as acoustic and electric guitars duel drowsily amid shuffling percussion, and their lyrics evokes a private world of ghosts and porch swings.” I only quote this because I am dying to write Pitch Crawl Back Up Mac DeMarco’s Hole Fork – C

Daddy Yankee, Bad Bunny – Vuele – A little back but that’s Latin Trap for ya – C+

Daniella Mason – Butterflies – Country meets new women pop – B-

DRAM, Trippie Redd – Ill Nana – Where is the Ill Nana? I heard Foxy was playing a show at BB Kings awhile back, but it was a midnight show so… DRAM is the Broccoli guy and this is modern trap with a harder r&b backbone – B

First Aid Kit – It’s A Shame – Fleetwood Mac meets Bright Eyes, with the Swedish sisters harmonizing perfectly – SINGLE OF THE WEEK – B+

Jacquees, Dej Loaf – At The Club – Mid Paced r&b, both Jacquees and Loaf have terrific voices for the material – B+

KYLE, MadeinTYO – All Mine – The autotune is a little too much, but the song is bubblegum modern pop – B+

Leslie Grace, Becky G – Diganle  – Her ex has gone and so Latin popster sticks it to him with rapper Becky G – B+

Guordan Banks – Wanna Be Yours – Indie r&b track – C+

Majid Jordan – My Imagination (feat. dvsn) – Sweet but real slow, “you remind me of a pretty girl” is a neat hook – B-

Maren Morris, Vince Gill – Dear Hate – They want to give the world a coke – C-

Petit Biscuit, Panama – Waterfall – Trance via France – C+

P!nk – Beautiful Trauma – Catchy EDM pop, this is a goodie from the hit and miss popster – B

Pixie Lott, Stylo G – Won’t Forget You – Business as usual UK popster – C

Run The Jewels – Mean Demeanor – I’ve never warmed to this guys, odd because I don’t mind em solo at all… dramatic stuff – C+

Secondhand Serenade – Lost – Ghastly Americana – C-

U2 – You’re The Best Thing About Me (Acoustic Version) – Not bad acoustic version… actually, I left that line there to prove it isn’t simply a dislike for Bono, though the fourth time around that bridge is completely deadly – C-
