Heavy and Light Tour 2012
To Write Love On Her Arms or ‘TWLOHA’ is an organization of hope and public awareness for those affected (not just afflicted) with depression and other mental demons. There are those who claim this organization is a farce. Going so far as to protest their doings and condemn their actions. To those I grant you the giant flip off. There was one boy I knew who had an outright spewing frenzy over seeing someone wearing a t-shirt with the organizations logo. I should have slugged him. Let’s face it no organization is without flaw. But in the big picture of things- this one is a definite winner.
Anyone who knows depression and the aftermath of such knows that any ounce of assistance means hope. To be acknowledged that you’re ‘not alone’ can often mean the difference of not giving up. For that I respect this organization.
In an effort to raise awareness the organization is sponsoring a tour that offers spoken word and music in an effort to gather a community of encouragement.
Throughout the tour, there will be acoustic performances by Jon Foreman (of Switchfoot) & Fiction Family, Christina Perri, Now, Now, Will Anderson (of Parachute), Aaron Gillespie (of The Almost), Bryce Avary (of The Rocket Summer), Anthony Raneri (of Bayside), Noah Gundersen, The Lone Bellow, Satellite and word poet Anis Mojgani.
To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.
New York City you get the tour on February 13th Boston you get the Valentines Day show February 14th.
