Essentially the same set Bob Dylan performed at Forest Hills in 2016, so good, and I love the Sinatra songs so I can’t kick though only five of the 20 songs are from his golden age so caveat emptor. Having said that, you’d be crazy not to see him at least once. Monday – Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, at the Beacon Theatre.

Monday – Jhene Aiko: Trip (The Tour) – Irving Plaza – I never like her except when I am actually listening to her hip hop values r&b

Monday – H.E.R. – Bowery Ballroom – New school R&B by anonymous singer

Monday – Bleachers – Terminal 5 – I am not a fan but Jack sure puts on a good show

Monday – 6lack – Brooklyn Steel – Hip  hop r&b guy, better than just good for a chorus and was impressed though his live presentation was a touch cliched.

Monday – American Football – Brooklyn Steel – Remember rock nyc writer Woody Fuller, well he tells me his friend tells him that Brooklyn Steel is a crappy venue, and maybe American Football isn’t the band to check the venue out for, but they are a terrific indie rock band so maybe risk it

Tuesday, Wednesday -Spoon – Brooklyn Steel – Here is the trick… are you ready? Spoon are terrific for half an hour and then they get wearying. So if you stick it out for half an hour and leave, you’ll love em.

Wednesday – Angel Olsen – Town Hall – I can’t stand her, she bores me senseless, but I may wanna see what I am missing…

Friday – Dua Lipa – Hammerstein Ballroom – She certainly is an attractive young woman but as generic as get out with her EDM pop, still even with limited skills she is a charismatic live performer

Friday – The Front Bottoms – Terminal 5 – Remember when they were the next big thing? No fucking way…

Saturday – The Great Xscape – Prudential Center – A solid line up of r&b including Tamar Braxton and Xscape, and the always excellent Monica.

Saturday – Melissa Ethridge: Merry Christmas Baby – The Welmont Theatre – She just got arrested for possession of marijuana, so help her make bail

Sunday – Jay-Z 4:44 Tour -Barclay Center -From all the film I’ve seen of this show it is going to be a complete disaster, so if it is, if we are done with Hova the pimp and have to settle for Jay-Z the woke, let’s just get it over with. Plus, there will be “The Story Of OJ” (ok?0
