I know that Johnny Depp has been through all kinds of transformations on the large screen, from a Keith-Richards-inspired pirate to weirdo Willy Wonka, or mad killer Sweeney Todd, or simply Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland. I mean he has played the weirdest and the most eccentric characters, and he is quite acquainted with the music scene, so it should not come as a surprise that he wants to team up with… Marilyn Manson? Still I think people are gonna be in shock.

But don’t! The two guys have known each other for a while, Manson was even present at the premieres of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest’, ‘The Rum Diary’, ‘From Hell’, and there is even a remix version of Manson's song ‘The Nobodies’ on the soundtrack of Depp's film ‘From Hell’.

For me, what is more shocking is the choice of the song they have decided to cover together: Carly Simon’s famous 1972 hit ‘You’re So Vain’! The musical collaboration will be featured on Manson’s upcoming studio album ‘Born Villain’ due out May 1.

I have always thought Marilyn Manson had an Edward-Scissorhands-on-acid look anyway.
