Boys That Sing – Viola Beach – Sadly, a true last call for the Viola Beach band, this takes them back to the beginning, “she said she loved a boy who knows how to sing, so I learnt how to sing”, as good and as constant a reason to form a band as I’ve ever heard, it doesn’t just sing, it swings with eagerness – A

Batman Theme – Pylon – A terrific surf and turf version, all angular beats and Raybeat-y enough excitement – B+

Feels Like (Perfume) – Nao _ Neo-soulist with a relentlessly irritating voice and this is more of the same for the, to be perfectly frank, very hip star in waiting. The coda is lovely – C+

If Whiskey Were A Woman – Lori McKenna – You know how I wrote how I can take her in small doses, well this song, with its silly metaphor )”she’d be nothing like me” is hardly the punchline, it is like saying if tigers were battleships they’d be nothing like me Well, of course not – C

I Made It – Fantasia, Tye Tribbett – Gospel take out, and hardly a shocker since the last time I looked Tye was the pro in the field – B

Unchanged – Descendents – Lives up to its name, a nice rocking fast and sweet outro, about how things change – B

All Summer Long – Brian Wilson – I am sure if you’d been there, it was very moving but having said, for god’s sake, put it to bed already on record – B
