Eric Clapton got old, some arthritis in his hand, less jump in his step after decades of drug abuse met him on the flip side, and so he is about to retire and is doing one last lap. Two shows and two shows in September. I am going to Monday’s because I wanna see God one mo gin. We won’t see his kind again, a blues giant rock star? Ain’t happening.

Tuesday – The Sugarhill Gang – BB Kings – The “Rapper’s Delight” innovators.

Tuesday, Wednesday – Wilco – I almost convinced myself to go on Saturday, then I remembered how much I enjoyed em opening for Dylan. Still, Tweedy all but invented alt-country.

Thursday – Town Hall & Lpr Present: And Then Yo La Tengo Turned Itself Inside Out – Town Hall – I caught em in the mid-90s and they were great and then I caught em again and they weren’t great. So third time’s the charm?

Friday – Allah-Las, the Babe Rainbow, Roya – Where’s Alyson? I bet she is taking pictures somewhere here…

Friday – Micky Dolenz – 54 Below – The last time I saw him solo, he blew me away and I have no doubt he will do the same on Friday. His sister is opening.

Saturday – The Zombies: Odessey and Oracle 50th Anniversary – The Town Hall – In the UK, theyw ere all “She’s Not There” all the time, over here they were considered a major part of the Brit Invasion, and the album they are playing is a biggie.
