After a disappointing (his first and a half disappointment in a long career) and an anodyne performance at the Super Bowl, the bloom is a little off the rose, for Justin Timberlake, but a listen to the playlist promises that he should still be up to it on stage. The performances on Wednesday and Thursday at MSG are Justin’s first for the “Man Of The Woods” tour and he should be all over it.

Monday – NASH FM 94.7 Presents Scotty McCreery – Album Release Show – Gramercy Theatre – The new album ain’t bad at all and his voice doesn’t sound as creepy any more.

Tuesday – Judas Priest: Firepower 2018 –  Prudential Center – The new album is a dilly and this could be their last hurrah…

Tuesday – Lee Ann Womack – I’m not crazy about her new album but she is reaching that legendary status…

Tuesday –  Ty Dolla $ign Don’t Judge Me Tour – Irving Plaza – I  woulda bet he was a little bigger than Irving Plaza, he is one of the r&b go to guys for rappers who want a good verse… he can rap as well in a pinch.

Wednesday – Demi Lovato & DJ Khaled – I missed it Friday, choosing the first preview of Harry Potter instead. I have never seen Demi fail to bring it on stage.

Thursday – Miranda Lambert: Livin’ Like Hippies Tour – Tickets were changing hands for  $11 on Stubhub, third row for $75… makes to sense to me, she is still a favorite country singer.

Thursday, Friday – “Weird Al” Yankovic: Ill-Advised Vanity Tour w/Guest Emo Philips – Apollo Theatre – Between the Hamilton mashup and the Portugal, The Man remix, Al is having some year. Still, Emi Phillips, an hysterically funny man-child, is the calling card here.

Thursday – Lucius – Town Hall – One of the more interesting ambient other soundscape pop bands.

Friday – Big K.R.I.T., Cyhi Da Prynce, Childish Major – Irving Plaza – If you don’t like Big K.R.I.T. and I don’t see why you wouldn’t, the new Cyhi with A-Traak is well worth checking him out.

Friday – Don McLean – City Winery – Wait a second, his girlfriend is 24 years old? The perks of the job…

Friday – Jack White – Warsaw – Don’t forget to forget your celly

Friday – Porches, Girl Ray, Palberta MHOW – Porsche is indie rock in extremity. with an electronic bent .. not to be missed.

Sunday – MALUMA “F.A.M.E TOUR” – Madison Square Garden – His voice is so sugary you think he should have been singing bachata instead of reggaeton…. but he isn’t.

Sunday – The English Beat – Sooner or later you gotta catch the Two Tone band…
