Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio aka Bad Bunny all but invented Latin Trap, the 23 year old Puerto Rican went from a bag boy at a supermarket to a Latin American superstar in three years. When I caught him last year he was treated like the crown prince of Puerto Rico and Wednesday to Friday, he is performing the biggest gigs of his life at United Palace. This is as big as it gets.

Monday – Joan As Police Woman ‘Damned Devotion’ Release Show, Rupe Shearns – Rough Trade – That album she is playing a two week past release date for? Pretty great.

Monday – STEVE EARLE’S ANNUAL WINTER RESIDENCY W/ SPECIAL GUESTS JOE PUG – City Winery – The last performance till next year.

Monday – Wednesday – Jawbreaker – Brooklyn Steel – Sold out all three nights, this is what Green Day should sound like.

Tuesday –  Saturday – Ute Lemper – The great musical actress…. and all that jazz.

Tuesday – Thursday –  The Zombies – City Winery – Last band standing.

Wednesday – ROBBIE FULKS AT CITY VINEYARD – The best country Americana guy this side of Jason Isbell.

Thursday – LP, Noah Kahan, Kat Cunning – I saw LP open for Bryan Ferry a coupla years back and prefer her live than on record.

Friday – Kool & the Gang – BB Kings – I once saw the “Celebration” funk superstars open for a very good Van Halen reunion at MSG and hold their own and then some.

Friday, Saturday  – Bobby & Phil – Duo Tour – Radio City Music Hall – The Dead never die, they just mint more money

Friday – Lucy Dacus And The Kids, Adult Mom – Music Hall Of Williamsburg – I quite liked her latest iteration of female singer songwriterdom, sorta Lilith without the fairies…

Sunday – THE VERY BEST OF DAVE MASON (OF TRAFFIC) – City Winery – There are no good guys, there are no bad guys -there is just Jim Capaldi…
