I admit, it I watched the video as millions of others probably did, even though I am not interested by the woman these days. But when Madonna releases a video, just two days before her over-publicized appearance at the Super Bowl, you have to be curious.
The video for her new song ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ features M.I.A. & Nicki Minaj as announced, but the two are reduced to two girls decorating the material girl’s performance, part pom-pom cheerleaders, part Japanese anime girls, restrained to very few during the song, while Madonna carries her 53-year-old fit figure through a football theme. You would think that inviting two big personalities like M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj, would trigger more chaos and brouhaha, but Madonna had other plans and never loses her number one star power.
But what’s new in all this? Like the music of the pop song, not that much, she seems to do a ‘best of’ of her career, carried by big footballers like the material girl she still is, wearing a big fat golden cross around her neck, or doing once again her Marilyn impression mirrored by her two acolytes.Kissing girls, provocative poses, black and white lace outfits, it runs a lot of a deja vu through the whole thing and the two guest stars are only invited to shout Madonna’s name,… her biggest victory seems to be the fact that she has tamed them both.
