There is nothing like a Wes Anderson’s movie, he has createda unique cartoonish universe populated by pastel colors and enchanting sceneries, instantaneously recognizable because so personal. Almost each scene could beframed on your wall and would make a perfect décor, but don’t be fool by the cuteness and the richness of details, the stories are bitter sweet and each scene always carries a heavy load of nostalgia about lost childhood ,or forbidden love, or both.

His films have a special place in cinema, and the trailer ofhis upcoming movie ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ was just released, his first one since his last 2007 live action movie, ‘Darjeeling Limited’.

The movie is set in the 60s, on an island off the coast of New England, and tells the story of a young girl who falls in love and runs away with the young boy, forcing a crew of adults to hunt them down.

And, as always in Anderson’s movies, young girls are wearing dark eyeliner, and characters are surrounded by more details and accessories than your brain can process at each image, as the meticulous symmetric beauty of the colorful images never stopped to amaze me.

You will recognize the usual suspects for an Anderson movie, Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray, but Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton are also part of the great ensemble cast.

The movie will be released on May 25th, and the soundtrack will probably be interesting, Anderson said in an interview about the movie: ‘it has a big musical element, but there are not really songs in it. But the music was still a big part, always the music is a big thing’.

So I don’t know about the rest of the music, but in the trailer you can hear ‘Le Temps de l'Amour’ by French chanteuse Françoise Hardy.
