Morrissey And PETA Release ‘This Beautiful Creature Must Die’, A Vintage Video Game
Right now, the entire millennial generation has its face glued on an iPhone screen playing Pokemon, so it may be a good time to release another game, which has a bit more substance?
PETA and Morrissey, or rather the Smiths, have teamed up to release ‘This Beautiful Creature Must Die’, a vintage arcade-style video game, largely inspired by their famous 1985 album ‘Meat Is Murder’. I am totally clueless when it comes to video games, I have never played Pokemon and has no intention to, but this new game is really vintage, retro, old school beyond belief! Was that done on purpose or they couldn’t afford a better designer?
If you are a fan of Pac-Man and other video game antiquities, you will probably like the game that you can find on PETA’s website and save as many pigs, chickens, cows, turkeys as possible, by hitting them and sending a rainbow before they reach the saw machine that will slaughter them. For unknown reasons, there are also some falling bombs, and since I am extremely bad at any video game, a lot of poor pigs got killed when I tried… Insert your saddest emoticon here.
According to Morrissey: ‘This game is the biggest social crusade of all as we safeguard the weak and helpless from violent human aggression. You don’t get that from Pokémon Go.’ And truer words had never been said, although he is preaching to the choir and a bit delusional, as I doubt this game is going to make any carnivore give up on meat any time soon, some sadistic minds could even find some pleasure in this blood bath! As far as I am concerned, after a few minutes listening to this horrible and annoying 8-bit rendition of ‘Meat Is Murder’, I wanted to kill the game programmer!
The mobile-friendly game is available for free at the PETA website.
