The Moz

If you had a ticket for Morrissey’s 2014 US tour and were let down because he cancelled most of it, may be you will be able to see him this time around? But who knows with the Moz, he may cancel again…

Morrissey just announced a US tour, with no date in Los Angeles by the way! His last US tour was cancelled due to ‘respiratory infection Morrissey contracted in Miami’… Do you remember about this? At the time Morrissey put the blame on his opening act Kristeen Young and declared she had contaminated him! Young did immediately deny the ‘criminal charge’ (she said she had allergies and not a cold) and drama ensued, as usual with Morrissey. Producer Tony Visconti and Morrissey’s guitarist Jesse Tobias got involved and honestly nobody can really tell what happened.

But Morrissey feels much better now, he has only postponed one date of his recent European tour, which must be a record for him. He posted a sort of international love letter on his website ‘True to You’, thanking everyone for this ‘triumphant March Tour’:

‘Thank you for being there, and for showing such vigorous and loud support. We shall breast the tape at Barcelona and Murcia (Spain) in April and May, and then we square up for four nights at the Sydney Opera House in Australia. Good times for a change.

Is it illegal to be this happy? Thank you, also, to everyone who has managed to download “Kiss me a lot” from iTunes. We value your interest and encouragement beyond measure.

Below is a film clip of Matt’s emphatic conclusion to the joy of Birmingham.

Merci beaucoup! ¡Gracias! Grazie! Dank je! Danke schön! Domo arigato!’

Hopefully, Morrissey’s 2015 US will start this summer in New Orleans with this same good spirit. It should be great since Blondie is the opener at the MSG and Amanda Palmer in San Jose. Here are the dates:

06-11 New Orleans, LA – Saenger Theater
06-13 Atlanta, GA – Atlanta Symphony Hall
06-15 Durham, NC – The Carolina Theatre
06-24 Worcester, MA – Hanover Theater
06-27 New York City, NY – Madison Square Garden ^
06-29 Akron, OH – Akron Civic Theater
06-30 Cincinnati, OH – Aronoff Center For The Arts
07-02 Nashville, TN – Grand Ole Opry House
07-08 Detroit, MI – Masonic Temple
07-09 Chicago, IL – Civic Opera House
07-11 Bloomington, IL – Bloomington Center For The Arts
07-13 St. Paul, MN – Fitzgerald Theater

07-18 Salt Lake City, UT – The Depot
07-21 Seattle, WA – Benaroya Hall
07-23 Troutdate, OR – Edgefield
07-25 San Jose, CA – San Jose Event Center *

^ with Blondie

But let’s see, NYC is the fifth date, and before that Morrissey has a few dates in the South, where he will endure hot humid temperatures and bad air conditioning… so he will have plenty of opportunities to get sick before reaching the Garden.
