MUSACK ANNOUNCES ITS 8TH ANNUAL ROCK N’ ROLL CARNIVAL
SET TO TAKE PLACE ON AUGUST 25TH IN LOS ANGELES, CA
ALL PROCEEDS GO TOWARDS MUSACK’S CHARITABLE EFFORTS TO SUPPORT MUSIC EDUCATION

Los Angeles, CA – MUSACK announces its eight annual Rock n’ Roll Carnival, a one-of-a-kind mini music festival to raise money for music education, in the private backyard of Hollywood executive, Donick Cary. The 10 hour family-friendly event features DJ sets from Questlove and Flavor Flav, music from Mexican Institute of Sound, The Aquabats!, and Tim Armstrong (from Rancid), among others during a full day of entertainment along with plenty of food, activities for the kids, and a silent auction of art and music memorabilia. Proceeds provide musical instruments and instruction to kids in need from Haiti to Appalachia and Compton to Native American Reservations.
The event is on Saturday, August 25, 2018, from 11:30am – 10:30pm, in the sprawling backyard of founder Donick Cary’s home in Hancock Park. Various ticket packages are available including General Admission at $175, VIP (includes a gift, dinner, and VIP bar) at $400, and Kids (under 12) Tickets for $40. Along with the performer lineup, guests can choose food from Chisme Tortilleria, Salud Juice, and Collage Coffee, along with custom Musack beer from Fall Brewing Company, wine, specialty cocktails, and Musack sundaes from Jeni’s Ice Cream. Along with guitar lessons and jams in the kids’s section, Art Grist will be leading crafts for the family, including a photo booth, a “Draw the Band” contest, and homemade buttons featuring bands from the lineup.
Attendees can expect surprise performers and activities. Past event performers include Weird Al, Yo La Tengo, Rancid, Fishbone, X, Polyphonic Spree, She & Him, Childish Gambino, Billy Bragg, The English beat, Shepard Fairey, Jonathan Richman, Bird and the Bee, Patton Oswalt, Superchunk, The Interrupters, Colin Hay, Tim Heidecker, Ted Leo, and Aimee Mann, to name a few.
Musack is a 501(c)3 charity that gives underprivileged kids and teens a voice through music by providing musical instruments, scholarships, and support to music teachers. It was founded by writer/producer Donick Cary, in 2008, for the children of his hometown of Nantucket to combat growing suicide rates and has since expanded to include programs in Los Angeles, Compton, Appalachia, Haiti, Australia, Alaska, Chattanooga, Cuba, and Native American reservations in the Southwest.
