Downtown Los Angeles also organizes free concerts all summer long, and each Saturday the city offers a free show at Pershing Square, featuring a lineup which has something for everyone, but mostly for people who like classic acts… So don’t look for indie rock in this lineup!

On July 15th, The Wallflowers will be performing, and I am sure they will play their most famous hit, ‘One Headlight’… Fronted by Jakob Dylan (Bob’s son), it’s hard to believe that the Wallflowers formed in 1989, almost 3 decades ago, how is this possible? The Bright Light Social Hour are opening.

On July 22nd, Boogie Knights, which formed as a Halloween gag in Los Angeles in 1992, are playing and you should prepare your platform shoes and purple shirts for this one, as Erotic City, a Prince tribute act, is opening.

On July 29th, Los Lonely Boys from Austin Texas will bring their rootsy mix of Texican rock, blues and soul to downtown LA, while joke Metalachi are opening with their heavy-metal-infused mariachi music.

On August 5th, Toad the Wet Sprocket and their Monty Python-esque humor will play with 10,000 Maniacs, with Mary Ramsey filling for Natalie Merchant.

On August 12th, there is a very special treat with the famous B-52s and their retro dance grooves. this show will be a real flash back, and nobody else seems to be opening. Too bad the Talking Heads are not part of this lineup!

On August 19th , the series will close with LA’s legendary band X and Meat Puppets opening, I bet this one is gonna be really crowded!
