Notice a name missing? Yes, Prince, the cherry on top, was meant to be here to support Tidal -a music streaming service so moribund, Jay Z forgot he was part owner as he attempted to dance his way around forgetting to get clearance for a sample on “Big Pimpin'”. But apparently he wanted to be the little man at the top of the Christmas Tree -like Barbra Streisand, all by himself and has bailed on the only possible reason to go.
No reason was given, but couldn’t he have been big about it?
So it happened yesterday and no Prince, everybody came out and performed two songs and went home, and Nicki performed “Feeling Myself” with Beyoncé, and finally Jay Z came out to perform “You Don’t Know” and threaten this to be a yearly occurrence.
Two songs each? I bet I’d have enjoyed it more than the reviews I’ve read…
