Is Elton John back? Could it be possible that he is done with this comedic nightmare he morphed into? The cliché’ his fatherhood has cast on him? Could Captain Fantastic actually be on the comeback?
A new album called The Diving Board that is set for a fall release. The record marks a return to the piano-bass-drums trio format heard on his classic early records such as the live 11-17-70. What? No more dance crap? Can this be happening?
I am all for evolving a sound but I am not a fan of going from magnificent to crap. When your talent taps out cash in your cards and go play golf To overstay your welcome in the music business is really an atrocity
Produced by T Bone Burnett, "It was T Bone's idea to get back with piano, bass and drums," John told Rolling Stone. "He said, 'Let's start with that.'" Backing John are Raphael Saadiq on bass and Jay Bellerose (John Mellencamp, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss) on drums. The result is "the most exciting solo record I've done in a long, long time," says John.
What does he mean by a solo record? What is the Elton John band and what am I missing here? Lets just hope it really is like 11 17 70.. or even close. Lets not suffer through another “Im Still Standing”…please I beg of you
