Today, acclaimed UK singer/songwriter Samm Henshaw releases his new single “Broke.” Get it HERE!

The new track is a playful plea for one more chance at redemption scuffed to velvety imperfection by a crackling drum track and vintage, amped-up horn bursts.  Henshaw’s husky vocal ennobles his cheeky plight as both a modern tale of woe (he even gets kicked to the curb by Five Guys) and a timeless, funky blues makeover with a twinkle in its eye that only this gifted soulster could deliver.

“Broke” is accompanied by a clever lyric video set in Samm’s room. Watch it HERE! The song is produced by Josh Grant (he produced Samm’s previous single “How does It Feel”) and Levi Lennox (Zayn Malik).  “How Does It Feel” was released in early summer to universal acclaim, with The Evening Standard hailing the talented artist as a ‘soul revivalist’ with a deft touch for ‘tipping his hat to the present day.’  PopMatters has praised him for ‘incorporating a pop sensibility that is likely to see his star continue to rise…’  His steady ascent has been chronicled by The Guardian and The Independent, with Samm also being cited as One To Watch by Spotify, Teen Vogue, Google, GQ, and others.

Born in London, Samm was raised by Nigerian parents, honing his love for Gospel and American soul in a church pastored by his father.  With his 2016 breakout debut ‘The Sound Experiment EP’ and its follow up ‘The Sound Experiment 2, he’s established himself as an inspiring new channeler of soul, coalescing his signature sound around filaments of pop, hip hop, gospel, and R&B.  Hand-picked by Chance The Rapper and James Bay to support their live treks, he’s also spent the past 2 years working and touring with the likes of Pharrell, Rag’n’Bone Man and Maverick Sabre before hitting the U.S. at the beginning of the summer for well-received showcases kicking off his stateside debut.
