Comment: The least anticipated is a toss up between teen idol Shawn Mendez and indie boy pin-up Lauren Mayberry’s Chvrches, a band so irritating I can only assume folks know something about them I have never discovered. As for most anticipated… we haven’t heard from Wooden Shjips in awhile, and I do find their psychedelia on a diet sound quite a lot, their latest single is excellent, the first sighting since 2013, is first rate. As EDM popsters go, Jessie J the answer for everything that ails you, I am very late on Fatoumata Diawara, the African singer, but her work on the new Disclosure single is soooo good that I can’t wait to hear her own material, J Balvin is the man who failed to bring Beyonce and Latin pop together for a major breakthrough on his remix of “Mi Gente”. But he is always excellent on stage and this should be a huge release. I am going with Balvin for most anticipated of the week.
