Comment: I’ve been writing this column for over eight years now, it is the first weekly column for rock nyc ever. So what do we have on Friday? Downtown Boys have headed to Sub Pop and the new album is a goodie, those % Billion guys is the new Butch Vig cew, just in time for Garbage to go off the road, David Rawlings was great last week at the Beacon though I’m not crazy about the new one, Kesha bores me and Bebe Rexha has some good karma coming after that new single with Louis Tomlinson, both Frankie Rose and Guided By Voices are the sort of quasi-art rockers that never did it for me, so I am going with Johnny Marr’s old buddies The Cribs in one of the better UK rock bands for most anticipated of the week.
