Steve Jobs: Making Advertising A Bit More Hip

What can be added to the deluge of sympathies and praises coming from everywhere after Steve Jobs’ death? Yes, this guy changed the world of technology and entertainment, he certainly revolutionized the music business, and transformed the way we listen to music with iTunes, the iPod, the iPhone and all the rest.

You have probably heard his 2005 speech about life and death that was re-broadcasted about everywhere, an inspiring speech that was revealing how much everything he did in life was motivated by death and how much this college-drop-out-turned-genius had thought about death:

‘No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life.’

I couldn’t agree more, from the biological point of view it is indeed the best invention, from the individual’s point of view, it is of course the worst, since, as Steve Jobs says, no one wants to die. But may be one of the best accomplishments in life is to courageously face one’s own mortality, and Steve Jobs had certainly done this.
