Sunstock Solar Festival Announces Its Second Edition In Los Angeles On September 9th
Sunstock Solar Festival is back with a new date this fall, the environment-conscious festival will return this year on September 9th at the Magic Box @ The Reef in downtown L.A. It’s also a new location as I attended the first edition of the festival last year in the heart of Griffith Park. The 100% solar-powered Sunstock had a fantastic line up which included Wavves, Cults, Allah-Las, Kaki King, Gateway Drugs, YOya, the Big Pink and Trapdoor Social, whose members are precisely the founder of the festival. The band performs concerts powered by solar energy and the entire festival promises to be once again completely eco-friendly and eco-minded.
Last year, the festival raised $10k for Kids Cancer Connection, and this year again the event will raise money to benefit GRID Alternatives, a non-profit organization working at making our planet cleaner and greener by implementing solar power and energy efficiency for low-income families.
Beside being entertaining, the mission of the festival is to ‘educates and activates local and global communities through music, art, food, discussions and more, all centered around building greener cities and greener futures.’
The all-age event will focus on clean energy but also social justice and will feature solar powered light installations, green food trucks, immersive art, workshops, games, sustainable vendors, social action opportunities as well as stages powered by the sun.
Furthermore, the event is growing as an additional stage is scheduled this time, focusing on local acts chosen via submissions — Band submissions should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The lineup of this new Sunstock edition will be announced in a few and tickets will soon be available on their website: $25 pre-sale, $30 at the door, or 20$ pre-sale for student/senior/military and $25 at the door. People under 16 will only pay 12$ pre-sale ($17 at the door).
