As a lyricist Pete wetnz is a child of his emo rock urges, the strange drawn out song titles that turn and move in ways you don’t expect. Except it never quite manages to pay off well enough. Except this on does, a masterpiece of lost love which uses Judy Jetson’s mobility as a future history of a disappeared love.

I hope to be a little more discriminating in 2015, and weeded this list down from 60 songs. I also want to be more careful, my consumer bound. I plan three lists. One, best songs of the year, two best songs of the month and three very best songs of the year. Say the top thirty or so. The deside is not to have the unwieldy lists of last to as much a dregree as possible. This is (more or less) in order but my Top 20 is in definitive order

Now I the winter of our discontent made glorious summer by Fall Out Boy, who have at least two more WHOMPING SMASH HIT SONGS awaiting for you are “Centuries.” It is amazing how big they are gonna get.

That’s a turbo charged top three pop album, indeed the top Five is very good indeed. In a reversal of 2014, 2015 is one of the best January’s in living memory. It is like everyone I s saying, hey we don’t buy your dog deads of January (no, froze days…). Which works for me, fine. A good month so far.

Finally, 2015 hits the charts and while I am not crazy about #1, I am crazy about # 2, FOB’s best album ever and if it did this well in the UK, I wonder if it can take over from Meghan in the US? No, I don’t really like the new Belle & Sebastian but I approve of them as a concept.

Yep, this is the song of the winter. With a slice of Pulp Fiction and a dash of “The Munsters” and, here, for the piece de resistance, boy of Zummer buddy Wiz Khalifa adding a verse of chronic, the one track that will put the band back at the top of the heap

Irresistible – Fall Out Boy – These guys are on a mission from god to find every possible hook they can and stick it into every crevice in a song. They do it here and it is a lot less than irresistible, risible more like – C

I’ve seen Fall Out Boy a number of times live and listened to everything because that’s what I do not because I like them… till now. “Uma Thurman”, with its hysterical “The Munsters” quote (Thurman slash Herman Munster is my bet) and it is one of the most fun songs of the year, that’s all. In honor of their achievement, rock nyc awards them with Best Guest Of The Week.

Now don’t get me wrong there are nostalgia tours, and I have even found myself busting out ‘From Under The Cork Tree’ now and then but I cant exactly imaging camping out to see them any longer. Their five minutes are up but with families and bills to pay its time to make more music launch tours and get cracking.

Fall Out Boy is on Ellen. That’s the oddest thing to me. Pop punk old men are sitting on her couch. Im not sure why I find this so striking, they’re not exactly ‘Alternative’ but for some reason I still consider them lesser known.. I have a mental block with them.

“It was so nice to see them up there in front of such a massive audience because it truly is the recognition they deserve. The band was spot-on, clearly seasoned from over a decade of experience. This new hit is a perfect crowd pleaser and, consequentially, a good song for a runway.”

It’s a minute and twenty five seconds of pure energy, and I really hope they continue in this direction. The band is entirely unpredictable, and this step forward is something I believe will be an element in “Pax-Am Days”. It feels so natural for them and you can just tell that they’ve settled into a comfort zone

This album was recorded in just two days. The band is out of control and pumping out new things like a machine. And it’s not crap, either. November 29th, “Pax-Am Days” will come out as a digital release. October 15th, it’ll be a physical release bundled with “Save Rock and Roll”- FOB’s first double album
