his name should soon be a household favorite
Behind the calm, there is a lot going on
With a new album just released and an apparently excellent concert last week introducing it here, here is a step back to January 2011, when rock nyc’s Woody Fuller interviewed Lael Neale on a trip to the West Coa
Alone on stage with her acoustic guitar, or sometimes accompanied by a violin or a slide guitar, the strings were just reinforcing the melancholic beauty of her crystalline voice, bringing more emotions into her folksy-dreamy songs.
‘Born in the Summer’ is inspired by those early adolescent years of feeling awkward in your own skin and painfully self-conscious, yet knowing that someday those growing pains will recede, explains the press release.
The song is also the 8th track of Lael’s forthcoming album, ‘I’ll Be Your Man’, set to be released on July 10th
It is just probably a question of time, Lael’s quiet music sure managed to captivate the audience and the chatting stopped as soon as she started playing, which is not an easy thing to accomplish in a bar, but her apparition on stage had something from an angel’s and this can shut up a lot of conversations.
