sales stopped being the only rule of inclusion

The top of the line-up is pretty hot, Teyana Taylor is way too far down

‘The decision to not have Drake participate in the Tidal stream has nothing to do with Apple or Drake’s deal, said Drake’s manager Future the Prince to BuzzFeed. ‘Point blank, 100 percent. I made a business decision. Apple doesn’t have the power to stop us from being part of a live stream. The only people that have the power to do that are Cash Money and Universal, and they’re our partners.’
The problem is, Weezy has been off his A Game since 2008, and the man has all the gifts he needs to be the top of the game. Yet he isn’t any more. When I saw him with Drake last year, he more than held his own. On record, he can’t catch up with his student. Weezy needs to free himself as well as his album.
My Heart Races On – Lil Wayne – A terrific central part of the puzzle from Weezy’s new album FWA, or do I mean mixtape?. His second one this year and here is the keeper, a self portrait so sweet it bleeds all over the hook by… who he? Jake Trouth… the best line either the one where the devil exchanges his soul or the one where he turns back to see what second place looks like – A-
not quite as filled with goodies as last week but I never what you are staring at excitedly! But guess what? You ain’t gonna heart it. It is only available through Tidal tomorrow, the second big get for Tidal in two days. The other was being the final streaming platform allowed to stream the Prince catalog. So ignore Lil Wayne, and what do you have? I’m sick of Ghostface Killah, so pass on that, Little Boots, Veruca Salts grand return, The-DReam (aka missed the boat after 4) and… Cradle Of Filth???
I’m working on it every day, man. I guarantee it’s going to be something dope. If you don’t want a musician being creative, don’t get The Free Weezy Album.”
The only victim here of course, is the fan but isn’t that the usual? As Wayne bitches about departing his label I cant seem to find any sort of legal actions in his attempt to depart the label that has cut him checks since 1991. So is this reality or ddelusional
Yusuf is a blues cover album, Run The Jewels are simply in the way till we get a new Killer Mike album, Dionne and Jerry Lee are scary, so I guess that leaves the new Lil wayne -who better come up with the goods after years of iffiness despite a great tour earlier this year
‘A&R is a work in progress’, added Blake, clarifying that the winning anthem’s artist will not necessarily be signed to the label, ‘Right now it’s all about forming relationships and understanding how this all works. We’re focused on distributing through the platform and digital sales’
Among the dead ones, Woody Guthrie had the terrible degenerative neural disorder called Huntington’s disease, Frederic Chopin had cystic fibrosis, and Miles Davis had sickle cell anemia! The problem is that musicians have to tour to make a living, illness or no illness, plus we have to consider that many of them can’t afford a nice health insurance!
I am willing to accept that I underestimated Lil Wayne, who was personable, smart and had tons of great songs and as for Drake? I have no idea what woke him up but he was wide awake and indeed he won the battle of the rappers
The setlist is huge but it isn’t really, the Young Money owner and the Young Money principle star will rap just their verse on many a song. And while the battle of the rap stars concept (yes, they’ve got an app for that) may be a little on the lame side, I am hardly the target audience by any stretch of the imagination.
I keep on looking at the date, August 16th, and the time, 7pm, and hoping there is some mistake somewhere because one of the most eagerly anticipated concerts of they year, the 15th anniversary of Okayplayer (you know, Guestloves music website thingy) at Summerstage, is happening at the same time as Eminem and Rihanna at Metlife. So I will be going to Em but my heart will be with Dev Hynes
I am not a hip hop scholar. I am a person who listens to the genre on occasion when feeling ‘hood. Of course that’s after I put in a full days white collar work in and drive to my suburban 3 bedroom home.
So because these other rappers were ‘killing it’, Eminem got super jealous and wanted to write a song ‘dissing everybody’, but alas he never did it, as this would have been a ‘career suicide’.
Ever since I caught Drake on SNL I’ve been hunkering to see him on stage and this set list is tasty indeed. I don’t know Drake’s material as well as I know Kweey’s so if I seem a little vague that is why. But I do know I am shocked he isn’t performing one of his greatest songs, “Over My Dead Body”.
