Let’s all admit, Cashman, like the sons, are no George Steinbrenner.
They won the World Series In 2009… Ah yes, the good old days…
1 World Series in 15 years.1 postseason game in three years. I am sick of Cashman, Girardi, and the Steinbrenners -maybe it is time they sold it, since they don’t know how to manage it.
The Yanks continue to fail to win the Wild Card, that is three losses to the Red Sox in a row. The Red Sox? And to add insult to insult, the Blue Jays clinched the division so that dream just ended. And Tanaja really sucked last time he pitched and he will be pitching the wild card game.
After getting swept by the Blue Jays in Yankee Stadium last weekend, they have beaten em twice in a row in Toronto, are 2 1/2 games in first and need want more to return the favour. And then they go head to head seven more times before the end of the season. Meanwhile, the Mets just lost in 14 innings but both teams are making for a thrilling year of baseball. Meanwhile, the Jets are still the Jets and the Giants are still the Giants FYI
After losing a 19 inning marathon to the Red Sox, the Yanks couldn’t regroup the next day. I’d be shocked if we get 90 wins, and we will probably be something in the nature of 80. This does not feel good, but hopefully, something somewhere… The Rangers seem heading for the Stanley Cup!!! Nets about to make the playoffs.
It is not every day a live performance changes instantaneously from a non believer to a fan, and it is not that I think Hurray For The Riff Raff were actually that great, they weren’t bad but not that great, but the songs revealed their stickiness and suddenly you could hear just how strong the riffs in the riff raff were. Blake Shelton was a blast
Old 97’s and Lydia Loveless failed to change the world on Tuesday, though they were both pretty good, still it ended up being the weekend of Governors Ball and with weather to dream for I dashed from one great gig to another and was sure the better for it. You gotta try it out next year, the only Festival you can grab the subway home from.
Elton John releases his best album in a long long long time, and Drake and Kings Of Leon keep on doing what they always do, with no small amount of success. Bassist Kevin Jenkins drops a real good soul album and Icona Pop owed us more than five new songs. But we will take it.
