a lot of Monday residencies
The problem is what Miley has admitted the truth herself during the show: ‘Guys I have no idea what I’m doing,’ while Peaches knows exactly what she is doing.
Sunday lineup included Steve Aoki, The Flaming Lips, Edward Sharpe and Magnetic Zeros, Deap Vally, Sleigh Bells, Cults, the Black and the White, Surfer Blood, Tennis System and I managed to see most of them. However, once on the field, I realized the organizers had made another big mistake beside not checking the weather, it was Oscars weekend!!
At least, if this were a video for a new song, I would forgive them about the nonsense, but where is the music? There’s none and the Lips apparently have decided they were artsy film directors now. But Wayne, sorry you are no Ken Russell! R.I.P. The Flaming Lips.
When I heard the news I wasn’t really excited for two reasons, first, do we really need to re-record the Beatles honestly? The original is great and this new one seems to be like a lazy attempt to make some bucks off an old classic. Plus, there is the ‘With A Little Help From My Fwends’ part that I am not very found of, when the fwend is Miley Cyrus!
It is very sad when you have appreciated the music, the original live shows, the humor and the allegedly lack of ego of a certain band and you suddenly discover that they are actually the opposite of the image they have been projecting.
I think in the world of people’s creations and things, it’s almost like, “Well, if the Flaming Lips did it, then I should do it!” I mean, I can see it going both ways, so yeah. And I like him, so I don’t have any — now if it was the Arcade Fire, then I’d have a problem with it.’
Before the Flaming Lips, Tame Impala played at the Greek Theater on Tuesday night and, if they didn’t use any crazy Halloween outfits and tricks, they impressed the crowd that was already very big this early in the evening.
armies of hostile aliens attacking the earth, big and noble veterans played by tattooed-face Ben Kingsley and Star-Wars-resurected Harrison Ford, and next great hope young hero Ender Wiggin (played by Asa Butterfield) who will probably save the Earth
Blondie at Highline were just incredible, you could feel Debbie’s star power tingling and X? And John Doe performing “Look How We Are”? Worth the price of admission in itself. Both bands on the same bill is a real thrill, so get thrilled at Roseland on Friday October 4th
