Not to be a reactionary, but this week has been the least reactionary chart of all time. The only new song here is the less than earth shattering “Shut Up And Dance” and everything else is mediocre jockeying for position. This is like a very warm Sunday afternoon -time for a snooze.
Muse has established a sound and a look, dark and damn serious, with retro-sci-fi-looking outfits, they performed as if they were doing a Shakespearian play with battles directed by David Lynch and scored by Ennio Morricone,… well they used ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’ at one point.
Walk The Moon are a Cincinatti indie pop band who signed to RCA, added synths to their sound, and hit the lottery with this bland sliece of electro pop rock. It isn’t bad, you know, and it is hard to object at Walk The Moon getting lucky. Somebody has to.
