I was just saying that there is an abundance of festivals in Southern California, but the trend is not going away, as a new one just showed up in my emails: The Santa Barbara Polo & Wine Festival will launch its first edition this year, and of course, this one wouldn’t have a real place here if music wasn’t part of it.

Macy Gray was just added to the music lineup of the festival as she is replacing Charles Bradley, who had unfortunately to cancel his upcoming tour dates due to illness. Powerhouse petite woman LP, Durand Jones & the Indications, Vieux Farka Toure, Angelou as well as Nick Waterhouse, whose elegant vintage music seems perfect for the occasion, will also be part of this exceptional fest, which will take place on Saturday, October 7th at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club

Beside music, the festival will feature tastings from some of Santa Barbara’s finest wineries and even two polo matches, so that organizers are encouraging attendees to dress as if they would attend a polo game: Imagine all these women wearing stylish sundresses, hats and gloves, just like a scene from a movie, but if you are not sure of what I am talking about, you can always visit the official event page.

The festival will be the first of its kind in California, and will also feature a careful curation of local food and wineries on site, such as local contemporary California cuisine by Barbareno, Empanadas by Buena Onda and Asian-inflected American plates from The Black Sheep. Local wineries on site will include Happy Canyon Vineyard, Sanford Winery, Standing Sun Wines, Summerland Winery, August Ridge Vineyards and more.

GA, VIP, and Box Seat tickets are on sale now and start at $75.00 (plus fees and taxes),
