Theatre: The Tony’s were last night, one of the more tedious awards show, and the musical “Dear Evan Hansen” which I haven’t seen and therefore am pleased to announce have no strong opinion about, won 6 Tonys. beating “Come From Away,” which walked away with “Best Director. I did see “Oslo,” about the Palestinian-Israeli 1990s peace treaty and was apparently much less impressed than the rest of the world. I also saw Best Actress In A Musical winner Bette Midler’s “Hello Dolly” which, now she has won her Tony, I assume will be a rarer sight on the Great White Way -check which days she is performing before you buy your ticket. I can’t think of a bigger horror than showing up to discover Donna Murphy (who was light years ahead of Bette in “Passion” all those years ago) subbing. It also won Best Musical Revival. . Bette Midler refused to be drown out by the orchestra if she went over her allocated time. Kevin Spacey -the least closeted most closeted actor who really has zero reason to be in the world today, was not exactly a thrilla. Johnny Carson and Bill Clinton impressions? Why? Any guesses about the ratings? I bet 5M impressions (aka around a 1.0).

More Theatre: Run, don’t walk, away from the atrocious “1984” at the Hudson. An abysmally boring affair – Grade: C-

The World: As predicted, the Brexit is beginning to hit the UK -inflation and a loss of jobs. The moral: Don’t Brexit.

Speaking Of England: Looks like Trump is cancelling his trip to London. With a Conservative Prime Minister, POTUS is worried about his reception by the USA’s biggest ally. Like all bullies, Trump is a coward.

Concerts: Don’t forget your Harry Styles tickets for June 2018 (yes two thousand and eighteen) on presale Thursday. The MSG gig is a must see.

Sports: The Penguins beat the Predators to repeat as Stanley Cup winners.

More Sports: The Yankees swept the Orioles, which mean they went  5 – 1 against their rivals in the East. The US tied with Mexico and are alive and well in the Soccer world cup. The Liberty beat the Flames yesterday. The Mets have gone 3 – 0 since Cespedes return.

Old Music: Deep, and I mean deep, in thought over All The Best. I should get to the McCartney review in a coupla days.

New Music: A solid diet of Big Thief for right now.
