State Of The Union: “All the talk of America’s economic decline is political hot air. So is all the rhetoric you hear about our enemies getting stronger and America getting weaker. The United States of America is the most powerful nation on Earth. Period. It’s not even close.” -Well, duh.

Race For The Presidency: People hate Clinton so much she is losing to Sanders. Hey, could we have Mussolini versus Lenin?

Recorded: Unlike the Beatles, I didn’t hear Elvis Presley’s earliest albums in real time,  Elvis’ Golden Records and 50,000,000 Elvis Fans were the albums of choice when I was a toddler (until G.I. Blues blew in). Listening to the earliest records are something of a revelation for me -especially how well they hang as albums.

Live: Willie Niles and the Weeklings at the Cutting room tonight. Still waiting for news on Panorama tix.

Lori Maddox: the problem with the Maddux/Bowie story is not who was a victim and who wasn’t but what the law is. I’ve believed that if you are old enough to die for your country, you are old enough to drink, have sex, drive, etc. But if you aren’t, you aren’t, even if you matured faster. 18 is a medium age we have agreed upon, had agreed upon in 1973, and if you break that law you are a rapist… without that truth, laws are meaningless
