US Top 10 Albums For The Week Ending May 26th, 2016

1 – Views – Drake – B+

2 – Dangerous Woman – Ariana Grande – C

3 – If I’m Honest – Blake Shelton – B

4 – Lemonade – Beyonce – A

5- Anti – Rihanna – B+

6 – I Still Do – Eric Clapton – C-

7 – Fallen Angels – Bob Dylan – B+

8  – Thank You – Meghan Trainor – C+

9 – 25 – Adele – B+

10 – 2 – Mudcrutch – C

Comment: If streaming has done nothing else, it has thoroughly shaken up the album charts, half of these albums are new this week, and many albums you would imagine performing better (Radiohead for one, Keith Urban for another), lasted only a week before dropping off. Meanwhile, somewhat surprisingly though no doubt fueled by his huge “One Dance”, has been at the top of the charts for four weeks. Dipping along are two other perennials, Beyonce (who still has let the album be streamed anywhere but Tidal) and Rihanna. The moral: rock and roll is niche programing and hip hop isn’t.
